Origin of Bauhinia
It is produced in the southeast of China, north to Hebei, South to Guangdong and Guangxi, West to Yunnan and Sichuan, northwest to Shaanxi, east to Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shandong
It is a common cultivated plant, mostly planted in gardens, houses and Temple streets, and a few in dense forests or limestone areas
Morphological characteristics of Bauhinia
Bauhinia is a tufted or solitary shrub with a height of 2-5 meters. Its bark and twigs are gray white. Its leaves are papery, nearly round or triangular, and about 5-10 cm long
Bauhinia has purplish red or pink flowers, more than 2-10 in bundles, clustered on the old branches and trunk, usually opening before the leaves, but the flowers on the tender branches or young plants open at the same time as the leaves
The flowering period of Bauhinia is from March to April and the fruiting period is from August to October
