Preparation of cutting

For spring cuttings, two-year-old branches of Pinus koraiensis are generally selected as cuttings, with a length of about 10 cm and retaining the upper leaves

For autumn cuttings, the strong and full branches of the current year can be selected as cuttings

After selecting the cuttings, cut them and soak the base of cuttings in 5% rooting agent solution for one minute, then take them out and dry them in a ventilated place. It takes about two minutes. If cutting is carried out in autumn, 8% rooting agent solution should be used for rooting agent, soaked in it for 3 minutes and dried for 5 minutes

The cutting matrix is prepared with peat soil: Perlite = 7:1, and the pH value of the matrix should be adjusted to 6.5-7.0

Cutting steps

The insertion depth of cuttings shall be one-third to one-half of that of cuttings, which shall be watered once after being inserted

Pay attention to maintaining appropriate temperature and humidity, and conduct appropriate shading. You can take root in about 35-45 days, and the survival rate of cutting can reach 75%. The steps of cutting in autumn are the same as those in spring, but the survival rate of cutting in autumn can reach 65%

Pay attention to weeding during cutting, and apply less fertilizer and thin liquid fertilizer as far as possible

When the height of cuttings reaches more than 10 cm and the number of branches reaches more than 3, the seedlings can be transferred to the pot
